Lawyer specializing in food law
Marlen Leon-Guzman is lawyer specializing in food law, holding a PhD in Private Law and a Master 2 in Business Law from the University of Nantes, France. Her research focuses on public-private contractual relationships in the food sector, international food trade, public-private accreditation and auditing systems. She is also a co-producer of the Passe-Partout podcast on food legislation. She has worked as a consultant for FAO on nutrition labeling, the IDB (Inter-American Development Bank)/OIRSA on agri-food trade within the framework of the Plan Puebla-Panama, and the Pan American Health Organization on the regulation of emerging and re-emerging diseases. She has previously served as Vice President of Education, Deputy Director of International Relations and External Cooperation, Full Professor, and Researcher at the University of Costa Rica.
