Steering Committee

The DDSA Chair has a steering committee whose mandate is to advise the Chairholder on the planning of activities and the follow-up of objectives, to evaluate the evolution of the Chair, to suggest improvements or new  orientations, and help to highlight the results of the research carried out under the Chair. The Committee also receives the Annual Report and reviews the description of the budget and activities planned for the current year.

The Steering Committee is composed of:

  • Alexandre Stylios, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Université Laval;
  • Full Professor at the Faculty of Law of Université Laval and Chairholder of the Legal Research Chair in Food Diversity and Security;
  • Kaouther Bessrour, Assistant to the Vice Rector and Director of the Office of the Chairs and Structuring Partnerships, Vice-Rectorate for Research, Creation and Innovation, Université Laval;
  • Martin Caron, President General of the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA);
  • Sandra Melançon, Director of International Organizations and Forums, Ministère des Relations internationales et de la Francophonie;
  • Emmanuel Destryker, Representative of Canadian supply-managed productions (SM5);
  • Maurice Doyon, Full Professor and Chairholder of the Egg Industry Economic Research Chair, Faculty of Agriculture and Food Sciences (FSAA), Université Laval;
  • François Dumontier, Director of Communications, Public Affairs and Union Life, Les Producteurs de lait du Québec, Supply Management Movement; and
  • Marie-Claude Desjardins, Full Professor, Faculty of Law, Université de Sherbrooke.

Scientific Board

The DDSA Chair has a scientific committee whose mandate is to support the Chairholder in developing scientific projects within the Chair's mission and in reviewing applications for student scholarships. The committee is composed of:

  • Luc Bodiguel, Research Fellow at the Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (CNRS), France;
  • Marine Friant-Perrot, Associate Professor (HDR), Faculty of Law, Université de Nantes, France; and
  • Charlaine Bouchard, Notary and Full Professor, Faculty of Law, Université Laval.
